Happy Thanksgiving: Moving Through the Season With Gratitude

By Adam Brooks, CFP®

In our office’s day-to-day work, we often help our clients work toward their future goals. Reflecting on financial progress with gratitude is an important part of the picture. As we enter the Thanksgiving season, we’d like to share our gratitude for some of this year’s greatest blessings.

Health and Well-Being

This year brought its usual ups and downs, but I’m grateful that our team and our loved ones have remained healthy and resilient. Physical and mental wellness allow us to bring clarity and calm to every client conversation.

Healthcare Coverage

Quality healthcare is an essential part of living well. Given the rising cost of health insurance, I’m thankful our team has access to reliable health insurance coverage.

Healthy Lifestyle

Health insurance is important, but so is leading a healthy lifestyle. While our team works hard, we also prioritize eating well, exercising, and getting enough sleep. I personally enjoy hiking and am an avid cyclist, activities that help me stay active, clear my mind, and recharge for the week ahead. Other team members stay well through yoga, spin classes, weekend runs, and walks. The healthier and more intentional we are about staying active, the better we can serve our clients.

Family and Relationships

Our loved ones top our gratitude lists. No matter who you are, life comes with its fair share of hardships and challenges, and strong bonds with our loved ones help carry us through.

Life Experiences & Personal Growth

No one is ever truly done learning and growing, and we have gratitude for the experiences that have shaped us into who we are today.

Travel

There are many ways to learn about other parts of the world, but nothing replaces the experience of travel. Whether by taking a short weekend trip or an extended vacation, we’re thankful that we’ve been able to explore many of the world’s countries and cultures.

This year, I visited India on my annual trip, Larry explored the sights and flavors of Italy, Yovanna enjoyed the natural beauty of Iceland, and Peter visited Seoul. One team member has even traveled to all 50 states and all seven continents. These experiences broaden our perspectives, inspire us, and enrich both our personal and professional lives.

Hobbies and Passions

Striking a balance between work and life is important. Our team enjoys a variety of hobbies that bring joy and balance to our days. Yovanna loves hiking and practicing yoga, and she has recently taken up rock climbing. Everyone at ABLE is passionate about something, whether it’s physical activities, spending time with family, or engaging in philanthropic work. These passions help us stay energized, inspired, and grounded both inside and outside the office.

Continued Learning

We’d also like to express our gratitude for the opportunity to continually learn. Each client teaches us something, and every life experience carries a lesson.

Community and Giving Back

We’re proud to be part of the Scottsdale community, and our team prioritizes giving back. We have immense gratitude for the opportunity to serve our community in meaningful ways:

Volunteer Work

When we aren’t helping our clients work toward brighter futures, we’re thankful for the opportunity to volunteer within our community and donate to more than 40 non-profit organizations.

Mentorship and Guidance

Many of our volunteer efforts are focused on guiding and mentoring the next generation. For example, I established the Professional Leadership Program with the Jewish Family and Children’s Center to help young people learn to be responsible, confident, and conscientious leaders.

Legacy Planning

Legacy planning is an important part of what we do, but truly, everything we do is rooted in serving our clients and their families with heart. We help protect not only our clients’ children, but their children’s children, and the generations that follow. From planning for a child’s education to supporting young adults as they prepare for marriage or purchase their first home, we guide families through every milestone. Our commitment is lifelong.

Our legacy planning process goes beyond traditional estate planning, helping clients pass on their values, life lessons, and personal wishes, ensuring that what matters most continues to shape the future.

The People Who Make Our Work Meaningful

I’m grateful to my team. We have a wonderful, dedicated team of professionals to serve our clients. We work hard together, but also take the time to support each other and take pride in each other’s successes.

I’m grateful to our clients. To have the honor and privilege of guiding our clients through the ups and downs of their lives provides meaning and purpose to our days. We don’t take their trust and confidence for granted and know our clients have many choices when it comes to wealth management. I am so grateful for the relationships and friendships we’ve developed with our clients.

Looking Forward With Gratitude

When we reflect on the past year with gratitude, we gain a new appreciation for all we have. This post wouldn’t be complete without a mention of our clients. The ABLE Financial Group team is deeply grateful for the privilege of serving you.

We’ve been able to help some of our clients through the most challenging seasons of their lives, offer a glimpse of stability in stressful times, and celebrate some of the happiest occasions.
